Hoping and acting with creation

Creationtide, or the Season of Creation is the period in the annual church calendar, from 1st September to 4th October, dedicated to God as Creator and Sustainer of all life. Subscribers of Search Magazine* will have read Revd. Jackie’s recent message, reflecting on the abundant gifts of this season and our responsibility to protect and preserve them. This Facebook video, inspired by Jackie’s message, describes how these months bring us closer to God’s creation, encouraging our gratitude and stewardship.

The theme for the Season of Creation 2024 is to hope and act with creation. During this time, communities around the world will come together to reflect on the importance of caring for our planet and taking concrete action for its conservation. It is a time to consider the urgent need to protect our environment and our mission to safeguard and renew the earth. To delve deeper into the theological reflection that guides the 2024 theme and symbol, you can find more information here.

The beginning of the Season of Creation 2024, is marked on September 1 with a World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. An online prayer service, led by the Season of Creation Ecumenical Steering Committee, will be held to celebrate the beginning of this season. Click here for more information and to join the service, to be part of sowing the seeds of action that will later blossom into hope.
