About Our Church

We are an English-speaking church in the Zurich area of Switzerland, belonging to the worldwide Anglican/Episcopal Communion of Churches. We are part of the Church of England Diocese in Europe.

We welcome people of all cultures, nationalities and denominations to worship with us. If you are looking for a community of faith where you can join others in worship and service, then you are at the right place.

At St Andrew’s we endeavour to be a part of God’s work in, with, and through the local English-speaking community. We  minister to all ages, helping them to grow in faith and live it out in the world. People from all over the globe have made St Andrew’s their church family and we aim to be a welcoming community for all who enter our doors.

Please consider this an open invitation to join us!

Worship with us

We hold two weekly Sunday worship services in church at St Andrews, where our Junior Church meets at the same time (during term-time). We also hold a weekly outdoor morning Eucharist service, monthly services at our Daughter Communities, and regular Evensong services.

More information can be found on our Worship page.

Choir & Music

The choir of St Andrew’s Zurich is a robed, SATB, volunteer choir.  We sing at the Sunday services from September to June, as well as a monthly weekday Choral Evensong. (Choir practices are normally on Thursdays from 7pm – 9pm during the choir season.) We rehearse in English.

Our Choirmaster is always pleased to meet prospective singers throughout the year. The ability to read music is essential, and some choral experience is desirable. If you are interested in singing with us, please do get in touch!

We welcome visitors and are always very happy to involve more people in our activities.

St Andrew’s has an enthusiastic Junior Church, for children aged 3-12 years, which meets on Sunday mornings, during service times.

Our Youth Group, for those 13 and upwards, meets during school term time on Friday evenings (currently online). We usually start with a short prayer and devotional before getting down to the serious business of activities including games nights, bake-off challenges, scavenger hunts, bowling or evenings out in the city.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding, or the action the Church takes to promote a safer culture in all our churches, is at the heart of our Christian faith. A Safeguarding Policy and Protocol has been in place within the Diocese in Europe since December 2015.
All clergy and Readers within the Church of England have Safeguarding training and need record check clearance certificates as a normal part of their ministry. Our lay volunteers who work with young people and vulnerable adults also go through the safeguarding process.
