Bishop’s Advent Appeal 2025

Al-Ahli Anglican Hospital, Gaza

“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:17-18 (NRSV)

The crisis in Gaza continues long after the headlines fade. Communities face disease, hunger and loss, with over 68,000 killed and thousands more injured. Amidst the devastation, Al-Ahli Hospital remains a beacon of hope, providing urgent care, surgery, rehabilitation and mental health support despite critical shortages.

This Advent, I invite you to support USPG’s partnership with the Diocese of Jerusalem to help keep Al-Ahli Hospital open and equipped to serve those in greatest need. Every donation and prayer brings healing, dignity and hope to families who must not be forgotten.

Full details can be found on the Diocese in Europe website.

O God, whose heart breaks for the world,
May your justice dwell in the land
May your righteousness abide in fruitful fields
May the effect of righteousness be quietness and trust forever
May the effect of justice be peace—enduring peace.

Amen.

Yours sincerely in Christ,
