Generosity is at the heart of our faith: We believe in a generous God, and our own generosity is a testament and hallmark of our faith in action. The ministry and mission of the Church of England and the Diocese in Europe is wholly funded through the incredible generosity of those who give to it.
St Andrew’s Anglican Church is completely self-supporting, receiving no state or church subsidies from either the UK or Switzerland. We minister to all English-speaking people in a wide area of eastern Switzerland, providing regular worship and pastoral care in Zurich and three daughter communities.
With our current running costs, and based on our current congregational numbers, we would be looking at a regular donation of at least CHF200 per adult per week. This pays for the salaries of the priest and other essential staff, maintenance of the building and costs associated with worship and mission. We have recently introduced a new state of the art sound system and carried out essential rewiring as part of our ongoing maintenance.
Donations to our ministry are most welcome by:
- Cash – please put cash in the offering plate during the service
- Twint – if you have the app on your phone, you can use the QR code below (only valid if you have a Swiss bank account)
- Bank Card – the pay machine by the church door at St Andrew’s accepts both debit and credit cards (unfortunately we cannot yet accept card payments online)
- Regular Bank Giving – or pledged giving – using the bank details below most of our regular contributors make regular payments direct from their bank account. This is our preferred method for giving to the church. The advantage of regular bank donations is that it is predictable. As we know what our community have committed to give us in advance, we can therefore plan how to use those funds with confidence.
