General Notices
Please note that we have a crèche area at the front of church (under the hymn board) for younger children and their parents; we welcome the full participation of everyone at our church services! Parents remain responsible for the care of their children; thank you.
Confirmation – If you or your child (12+) is interested in confirmation, please contact Revd Jackie or the church office.
St Andrew’s 130th Anniversary: In 2027 and 2028, we have two big church anniversaries, and we plan to hold suitable celebrations between May 2027 (the 130th anniversary of Anglican services in our church building) and August 2028 (the 130th anniversary of the dedication of our organ). If you have any ideas, please speak to the clergy and churchwardens!
Food Bank – St Andrew’s has started hosting a volunteer-led food bank run by Thanksgiver Schweiz on Mondays from 15:30 to 17:30. For more information, please contact Jackie, Corinne or the office. Please also hold Thanksgiver and the people they serve in your prayers.
My ChurchSuite is an online system that helps our community members to keep up to date with events, participate in rotas, get in contact with others, and keep their own details current. Email the office to get access!
Receiving Communion – Bishop Robert has asked all clergy to inform their congregations that he does not approve of the practice of intinction (dipping the wafer in the wine at communion). In order to comply with the Bishop’s wishes, please refrain from dipping the bread into the cup at communion. It is Anglican practice to share the common cup. If you prefer to receive only the bread, then our theology is that in doing so you receive both bread and wine in the one element.
Safer Wiring – Following an electrical report covering the church and Community Centre, we are currently involved in renewing some of the essential wiring and bringing this up to date to meet with current Swiss standards. The church, Vestry and Tower Room have been completed and, following a further technical check, the Community Centre will be completed shortly. This will allow us to complete the report’s recommendations.
The Anne Catherine Nind Fund aids members of the St Andrew’s community who are needy, elderly, or ill. The fund can help to maintain a person’s independence or health. For info, please speak to one of the Fund Trustees – Karen Morton, Philip Newbould, or Philippa Milz – or email them at ACNFund@standrewszurich.church
We are looking for copies of Chaplaincy Magazines before issue 3 of Search – can you help? Please speak to Jackie, Mark or Philip N.
