Our Junior Church Nativity Play is a much-anticipated part of the St Andrew’s calendar, with carols being practised in October and children being coaxed to speak their lines louder and more slowly for weeks before the performance.
This year is no exception, and we look forward to welcoming parents, extended family, and friends to our play this coming Sunday, 11th December at 10.30am.
Money collected at our Nativity Play on 11th December will be matched from St Andrew’s funds and donated to the Hanne Howard Fund (HHF), which was formed by Hanne and Ted Howard to work directly with a Kenyan community-based organization in Lenana slum, Nairobi. Their mission is to achieve self-reliance for orphaned and vulnerable slum children and youth through education, care and training. So far, 21 HHF children have transformed their lives and are gainfully employed today!
Over a hundred children have been rescued from the dangers of life on the streets where malnutrition, TB and high-risk HIV transmission are prevalent. Education is the key priority, and every HHF child is sent to school and given the opportunity of a solid academic foundation that will lead to gaining marketable skills and sustained employment.
