Very, many thanks to all of you who have donated items of first necessity which we have passed on to Helfen Sie helfen, who have already sent several lorry loads of humanitarian aid to be distributed to displaced people in Ukraine, as well as to refugees in Poland and Romania.
Helping those fleeing from war requires ongoing effort and support from all of us. To this end, we will be partnering with three more organisations, to help refugees who are already here in Switzerland as well as those in need in Eastern Europe.
From this weekend, we will also be able to receive donations of clothing as well as toiletries and other specific items as per the list below. More information about this project, the organisations we are partnering with, and an up-to-date list of things that are needed, can be found here, on our dedicated webpage
Donations can be dropped off after the church services on Sundays
and also at the community centre on Wednesdays, between 9am-2pm

If you can spare some time to help with sorting and packing donations, ready for transport, we’d be delighted to hear from you!

Any financial donations will help with the packaging and transportation costs, for which Helfen Sie Helfen ask for 3chf per box and Christliche Ostmission ask for 5chf per bag. If you would like to give money to support this project, please donate through St Andrew’s, and we will pass the funds on to these organisations.

The Diocese in Europe and USPG (United Society Partners in the Gospel) have also launched a joint emergency appeal to support humanitarian work both in Ukraine and with refugees fleeing into neighbouring countries. Funds raised by the appeal will support Christian charities and churches and agencies carrying out humanitarian work in both in Ukraine and organisations responding to the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in neighbouring countries.
