The theme of the conference is ‘God’s Global Goals’. As the Campaign Director, Florian Glaser writes: “Many Christians pray daily, ‘Your Kingdom come’. But what do we mean by that, what changes do we hope for for our World? And what does God want for this World?

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN: offer Hope for a world free from poverty, hunger, illness and want and in which all life can flourish”. The goals are at the heart of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The StopArmut conference this year looks at what progress has been been made since 2015 when the goals were launched. At the same time the conference also seeks to build a theological bridge between the Sustainable Development Goals and God’s plans for his world and encourages action so that extreme poverty can be stopped and all life can flourish.
