This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association of the Anglican Church in Zurich will take place after the 10.30 service in the community centre on Sunday 15th May.

This year’s meeting sees the introduction of the new Constitution of the Association, which was approved at the Extraordinary General Meeting on 12th December 2021.  One of the changes in the new Constitution is that the Honorary Treasurer is appointed by the church council, either from their own membership or as a co-opted member.

At the AGM one of the important things we do is to elect church officers.  This year we must elect:

  • two council members,
  • a churchwarden

In order to vote at these elections, you must be on the Electoral RollYou must also be on the electoral roll if you would like to stand for election yourself or nominate someone else. The current list of members of the Electoral Roll is now on display in the community centre.  If you are unsure whether your name is on the list please contact Ruth in the church office, who will check for you.

Postal Voting – if more nominations are received than there are posts to be filled election(s) will be held. At the AGM last year a motion to allow postal voting for elections (N.B. this does not apply to any other motions or items) at this year’s AGM was approved. If there is to be an election postal voting slips will be sent to all members, together with the Invitation and Agenda at the end of April.
If you have any questions about the procedures please speak to one of the churchwardens or a council member.
The rules for AGMs are contained in the Church of England’s Church Representation Rules: https://www.churchofengland.org/about/leadership-and-governance/legal-services/church-representation-rules/contents

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM and hope that as many members as possible will be able to attend this year.

Ruth Bailey, Church Administrator
