Beautiful music in aid of a much-needed service

One of our organists, Jonathan Davies, recently recorded the fourth movement of Mendelssohn’s Organ Sonata number 4 which was included in the recording of a Charity Concert performed in front of a limited audience at Putney Methodist Church in London on the 19th September.

All the money raised was donated to the Wandsworth Food Bank which is providing much needed assistance in these increasingly difficult times: https://wandsworth.foodbank.org.uk/

For those of you who don’t already know Jonathan, he worked in Zurich from 1996 to 2002 and was a member of St. Andrews church choir. He re-started organ lessons while here at that time and was coached by Janine Lehmann, who was then organist at the St Peterskirche.

When Jonathan returned to London in 2002 he was invited to become one of the one of the organists playing at Putney Methodist Church’s services.  Jonathan remained on the rota of PMC organists until moving back to Zurich last year, where he now provides beautiful music for St Andrew’s congregation. Thank you Jonathan!
