Since 1891, the first of August has been celebrated as Swiss National Day.
The date refers to a historic alliance concluded in 1291 by the three cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden. This alliance was to become the focal point around which the Switzerland of today was built over the next 500 years.
This years celebrations may be a bit different and we will not have the opportunity to gather as usual, however we can still celebrate together. You can discover the full programme for this years celebrations by visiting https://www.missione1agosto.org/
If you are planning to attend the service at church tomorrow morning, please do be sure to book in advance, by midday today.
More information and our online advance booking facility, can be found via the link for Sunday Services Information, at the top of the Prayer and Worship page.
