And now for something completely different…

Following on from Friday’s post, about the innovative approaches that have been adopted order to keep music and worship alive on-line, it seems that BBC Sports commentator, Andrew Cotter has risen to the challenge. Whilst there may not be any sports events for him to provide commentary for, there’s always dogs…
Here he is covering the final from the “Winning from Home” competition, organised by the charity, Dogs for Good.

Dogs for Good is a UK-based charity training dogs to help adults and children with physical disabilities and learning disabilities, children with autism and adults with dementia. For more information, visit https://www.dogsforgood.org/

As well as links to Paul’s podcast, and various other English language worship options, Today’s “What’s On” listing has a link to the Pentecost Sunday video service from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, together with Pope Francis.
You can find the listing by clicking on the Sunday Worship option at the top of the Prayer and Worship page. You can also click here to go straight to the listing. In case you missed them, the listing also has all the links for last Sunday’s services as well.

Don’t forget, you can join with others from St Andrew’s for a virtual cuppa this morning, via Zoom, at 11:30. To join the meeting, click here to email the Chaplain for the details.

Also, if you’d like to be included in our telephone chat network, just let us know by emailing our support team.

Plans for reopening the church next month are taking shape and should be finalised over the next few days. Services will feel rather different, as we won’t be able to accommodate so many people in the congregation and we will need to ask people to register in advance in order to be assured of a seat. Unfortunately it will also be quite some time before we are able to sing hymns together, or to gather in the Community Centre for a cuppa after the service. However, Paul will continue to post his Sunday podcasts and we will also carry on with our Sunday Zoom catch-ups so that we can all have a good natter on-line.

Further announcements will follow – keep watching this space!
